This paper presents two types of hybrid mounts for vibration control.One type consists of passive rubber element and active piezostack actuator.The other type consists of passive rubber element and active electromagnetic actuator.After identifying actuating force characteristics of active elements via experiment,appropriate size of hybrid mounts are designed and manufactured.Subsequently,a vibration control system is constructed with the mass and its governing equation of motion is derived.In order to actively control the imposed vibration,sliding mode controllers are designed and experimentally realized.Vibration control performances are experimentally evaluated and compared in time and frequency domains.
