摘要

The feasibility of the newly developed smart passive system based on a magnetorheological fluid(MR)damper with an electromagnetic induction(EMI)part has been investigated in this study.To more exactly describe the dynamic behavior of the smart passive system,several practical considerations such as the impedance of an MR damper and an EMI part,which have been ignored in the previous studies,are experimentally as well as analytically investigated.In addition,the applicability of the smart passive system to large civil engineering structures has been preliminarily studied by using the large scale EMI device,which was newly designed and manufactured,and the 10kN MR damper.
