Integration of Remote Sensing Data and Geochemical Data for Mapping Mineral Potentials in Geijiu Mineral District, Yunnan, China

Gejiu mineral district, Yunnan, China is known for its world-class Sn deposits and Sn production. Several Sn mineralization-associated anomalies have been previously identified using local singularity mapping technique on geochemical maps created at 2km resolution from a dataset of stream sediment samples. These areas were used in the current paper as constraints to process remote sensing data at a much higher spatial resolution. New versions of principal component analysis methods (PCA) were applied to process the multiple remote sensing image bands of ETM+ in integration with other geoscientific data layers including geochemical concentration in stream sediments and airborne geophysical data. This paper focuses on assessment of scale effect in integration of diverse datasets. The results are useful for delineating target areas for mineral exploration in the study area.
