Inheriting and developing of Chinese traditional lighting culture

摘要

The history of Chinese tamp is centuries-old and the culture of Chinese lighting is resplendent. On one hand the prehistoric saga, ancient fairy tales and the illustration of Chinese characters revealed how the ancient Chinese used the lamp and understood the lighting. One the other hand all kinds of history books and literatures recording numerous cases about lamp and lighting represented the dynamic lighting culture development which has lasted for several thousand years. From the scope of civilization, this paper searches and discusses the origin, the core content, the ideas and meanings, the culture system, the form characters and the technique about Chinese traditional lamp and lighting, and finally finds out something which will be helpful to lighting design in our day.
