According to Newton law, the basic chemical & physics character and hydromechanics of dust particle, the mechanism of dust generation and motion in shotcrete was studied. Dust movement and air pressure distribution in shotcrete was simulated by fluent software. The results indicated that there were five reasons to explain dust generation and diffusion which were high-velocity current in the process of spraying, the interaction of agglomerate in the movement, the crash between concrete and sprayed surface, the trait of tiny dust particle itself and the effect of outside wind flow. It is the most effective measure to control dust hazards by reducing and preventing dust source in shotcrete.
