DESIGN GUIDANCE FOR SCOURSTOP TRANSITION MAT~? AT CULVERT OUTLETS

During summer of 2005, hydraulic performance testing was conducted by Colorado State University on the ScourStop Transition Mat? (TM) manufactured by Erosion Tech, Inc. Using data generated from the test program, design guidelines were formulated for selection and installation of the TM for low tailwater culvert outlet scour. Information presented within this paper is intended to briefly summarize the test program, provide a review of pertinent culvert outlet literature, and present a design aid for selection and installation of TM utilized in low tailwater conditions.
