摘要

The urbanization is an extrem ecase of land cover/land use change. Hum an activity in urban envir onments has impacts in the local scale including chan ges in the atmospheric composition, impact in the water cycle, and modifying ecosystems. Urbanization and human activities cause higher air temperature in urban areas than its surrounding areas. The high tern perature can cause serio us problems to the environment, such as high energy consumption on cooling, raised air pollution level and even changes in the u rban climate. This study uses remotely sensed data to observe this particular type of effe cts of urbanization and human activities in Urumqi city, Xinjiang, China.
