The purpose for this development is to research and evaluate a new instrument to provide physiologically relevant mechanical loading for stents in the SFA~2, considered to be the most biomechanically challenging environment in the stentable vascular system. This instrument was designed to provide the following complex motions as described in Table 1. It is expected that this instrument could be useful to evaluate the durability under other biomechanical conditions such as the carotid artery, the renal artery, or the translations of the aortic-iliac bifurcation. Further study will be necessary to evaluate these conditions.
