INTELLIGENT TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (ITMS)-A NECESSARY SOLUTION TO URBAN TRAFFIC PROBLEMS

摘要

The essay discusses the necessity for setting up an intelligent traffic management system from the perspective of the current road traffic development and future demand in Beijing. It briefs the structure of Beijing intelligent traffic management system which involves eight systems, like traffic signal system. The author makes a conclusion on its effect and benefits and proposes that intelligent traffic management system is a necessary solution to road traffic congestion.
