Production system of a map data set for a vehicle control and navigation system from aerial ortho photograph

The process of map-making based on aerial ortho photographs has traditionally been performed by the handwork of the people using the photogrammetry stereo plotter, and this technique has already been established. However, compared to this process of making maps which are just used for the backgrounds, the process of making road network maps used mainly for the car navigation systems seems to be possible to have some automatic production through its process. And if we can improve this road network data more into a higher accuracy, it can also be used for control navigation maps, such as vehicle controls and assistance for driving.
