Quality Control Platform System for Product Design Process

Quality control in product design process (PDP) is vital to the final quality of a product. The aim of quality control in PDP is to melt customer requirements into each stage of PDP. In order to control the quality of product design, the top-down and bottom-up rules for quality control are proposed. Quality characteristics (QCs) are the key control factors in the whole PDP. The QCs decomposing and transforming in equivalent way is the main activity of quality control in each stage of PDP,which includes QC describing and formulating,decomposing and transforming, optimizing and conflict-solving and analysing and validating. The process model combined with quality tools for decomposing and transforming of the QCs is presented. A process model of quality control for PDP is provided, in which quality tools,methods and key quality data are integrated. Based on the proposed model and approaches, a quality control software system, QQ-Dplatform, has been developed. The conceptual model and the browser/server-based system architecture of QQ-Dplatform are established. Finally,system platform and tools are studied and evaluated by a simple case.
