This paper proposes a multiple model (MM)formulation for approximate state estimation with quantized measurements. Based on this MM problem formulation an approximate estimator, referred to as the probabilistic measurement localization (PML) filter is obtained. Simulation results of aircraft altitude tracking in an air traffic control (ATC) scenario are presented that illustrate an improvement provided by the PML filter as compared to the standard Kalman filter.
