Thermal spraying technology was one of the listed advancedmanufacturing technologies to be developed with great effortin "the eleventh five-year" programming and the perspectivelayout for the years to 2020 of China. It is also a veryimportant technology to promote establishment of economicalsociety. This paper analyzed some application cases of thermalspraying technology to several typical components such as thecorrugated roller used for packaging industry, injectionmolding screw for plastic industry, insulated bearing forrailway industry and ball valve with large diameter forpetroleum & chemistry industry which were practiced bySurface Engineering Research Institute of CAAMS in recentyears. This paper presented some new developments onapplications of thermal spraying technology in China andsome considerations on the developing trends of thermalspraying applications in China in future are put forward incomparison with the current situation of oversea thermal spraypractices.
