Using the Mossbauer spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction methods the chemical composition and the dimensions of particles of erosion products were determined when the distances from the nozzle to the cutting slot were changed. In the addition, the influence of the laser beam power and the parameters of gas flow on their sizes and chemical composition was studied. It has been determined that the chemical changes in erosion products are related to the quality of the cutting slot
