摘要

This paper presents an analysis of the effect of temperature rise and hydrostatic pressure on refractive index changes in a double coated fibers. We have shown that when the thickness of primary coating increases, the refractive index change would decrease up to a particular temperature, after which the behavior of refractive index is affected and amounts to higher values with a further increase of coating layer thickness.In the secondary coating, increase of thickness of the coating layer causes also the refractive indices in normal directions to decrease.We have shown that we can design a double-coated optical fiber with a primary coating thickness up to 140 μ m used as a temperature sensitive element intemperature monitoring devices.
