Multidimensional deterministic radiation transportmethods have come to the fore in recent years, and showgreat potential as viable design tools for realistic nuclearengineering applications. However, the fulfillment of thispotential will be very much dependent on the accuracyand efficiency of the numerical algorithms employed.These two factors go hand-in-hand, and the ongoing questnow is for the development of adaptive numericalframeworks which ensure maximum accuracy for thesmallest computational effort.
