DISCUSSIONS ON CHINA SEISMIC SAFETY EVALUATIONSYSTEM FOR CONCRETE DAMS

摘要

According to the construction needs of many high dams located in China western regionwith a high seismicity, based on the achievements on researches, design and construction forconcrete dams in China and other countries in recent 10 years, authors developed some discussionson some aspects of China seismic safety evaluation system for concrete dams, such as site-specificseismic hazard evaluation, fortification standard and performance requirements, selection ofdynamic parameters, input of ground motion, dynamical properties of dam concrete and bedrock,dynamical analysis method and evaluation criteria, defensive measures against strong earthquakes,and authors hope that the paper can provide some helpful information for improving the seismicsafety evaluation system for concrete dams.
