Tumen River is an international river shared by the Democratic Peoples Republic ofKorea(DPRK), Russia Federation and the People’s Republic of China(PRC). For that reason, theTumen River basin has not been developed yet, even though it has lots of potential in water supply andhydropower. In this study, rainfall-runoff analysis for estimating water balance and sediment dischargein the river basin was simulated in order to use the outputs for water resources planning. The thankmodel was presented to forecast discharge based on practical variograms, and key parameters ofvariant functions were also estimated by genetic algorithms as one of the optimal search method. For asimulation, some information on topographical, hydrologic and rainfall data was examined.
