Original construction of the amorphous core means that only asmall part of a total magnetomotive force produced by measured currentis compensated by compensating current. The number of turns of acompensative coil is significantly reduced and inductance of the circuitis also decreased. New core construction also yields simplification ofthe system, in which measured current conductor passes through centrehole of the measuring device. Basic mathematical description of thecircuit and results of computer simulations of a field in magneticcircuit are given and discussed. Experimental results of the new type ofcurrent measuring system investigation, i.e. I/O characteristic anddynamic abilities are also presented
