Laser forming is currently a laboratory technique thatis beginning to see industrial applications. In thispaper, we discuss practical concerns and review theprogress of laser forming at GE Global Research. Twoapplications, 3D shape tuning and precision tubebending, are presented. Topics include considerationsfor industrial applications, methods for qualifying aprocess window, materials characterization, pathplanning, and system integration.
