Segmental analysis of Color Kinesis: new echocardiographictechnique for objective assessment of regional LV endocardialmotion

Color KinesisTM (CK) is a new real-timeechocardiographic technique based on tissue characterization, which usesframe-by-frame color encoding of pixel transitions from blood tomyocardial tissue throughout systole to display endocardial motion in asingle end-systolic frame. The authors developed user-friendly softwarefor on-line segmental analysis of CK images which provides a variety ofquantitative indices of magnitude and timing of regional endocardialmotion. To date the authors have analyzed CK images obtained in 153subjects in different protocols. These studies demonstrated thatsegmental analysis of CK images is an easy noninvasive method thatallows objective evaluation of regional LV systolic function. As such,this method has significant clinical potential in the diagnosis ofmyocardial ischemia
