AUTOMATIC DETECTION OF GOAL EVENT IN REAL SOCCER IMAGE SEQUENCES

摘要

The detection of goal events in soccer images is one of the most important problems that has to be solved since a lot of controversies arise during matches when doubtful situations happen. A visual system that automatically detects the goal events and allows also an objective inspection of the recorded images can be used as a decision support tool by the referee committee when doubtful situations arise. In this work, the problems of ball recognition, ball tracking and goal event detection have been faced in real soccer image sequences.
