Maintenance optimization scheme for a periodically tested automatic valve control system

摘要

A maintenance optimization scheme is presented in this paper. It permits the description of the ageing behavior and the integration of the periodic testing. The scheme has been used to optimize the maintenance policy of an Automatic Valve Control System. The paper presents the first results of this work. Results are obtained and compared from both analytical-numeric methods and Discrete Event Monte Carlo Simulation methods. The work discusses some of the complications which arise when the often used exponential distribution approximation is replaced by more realistic models.
