The dependence of the wear from erosion on the wall temperature of 20# carbon steel in a given temperature range has been studied. According to the treated experimental data, the correlation of the wear from erosion that decreased first and then increased as the wall temperature increased was obtained, as well as the critical temperature at which the wear from erosion is minimum. In addition, the correlation of the thickness of the oxide film and temperature was also acquired by measuring the thickness and constitution of the oxide film. Further, the effect of the thickness and hardness of the oxide film on erosion rate was analyzed.
