TIM HORTONS 4ICE CENTRE - A PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIP

This paper presents the unique public-private partnership formed between the City ofMoncton and Moncton Arena Partners Inc. (MAP) and discusses the process and agreements that werenecessary for the vision to become a reality. MAP provided development, financing, design/build andoperation of three NHL sized practice arenas and one 1500 seat, NHL sized spectator arena all under oneroof. The main level contains the arena ice surfaces, twenty dressing rooms, a large glassed atriumentrance, a Tim Hortons kiosk, a 100 square metre storage or future meeting room area and a 150 squaremetre sports retail store. The second level provides unobstructed viewing of all four ice surfaces and directaccess to the spectator arena concourse as well as exterior seating for each of the practice arenas. Thesecond level also contains administration offices, a multi-purpose room and a 600 square metre sports barand restaurant with exterior roof top patio.
