CROSS CONNECTION CONTROL: PROTECTING DRINKING WATER IN DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS

This presentation entitled, Cross Connection Control: Protecting Drinking Water inDistribution Systems will identify what a cross connection is, the National Plumbing Code requirementsand specific case examples of why we should be concerned. In the broader sense proper protection of thewater distribution system from hazards posed by cross connections constitutes one of the multi-barriersteps to protecting a safe drinking water supply, of equal importance as watershed protection, propertreatment, disinfection, training and monitoring. Methodologies for establishing proper protection of adrinking water system from cross connections, s the concluding portion of this introductory session.
