摘要

A micro-acoustic wave sensor based on the thickness shear mode (TSM) quartz resonator has been investigated for engine oil quality monitoring through the viscosity measurement. Effects of the fluid mechanical and electrical properties on the TSM resonator with both sides in contact with the fluid have been studied and compared to the 1-sided device. Sensor prototypes based on both the 1- and 2-sided TSM resonators have been developed and tested in various fresh and used engine oils.
