CORK GRANULES AS LIGHTWEIGHT AGGREGATE

摘要

A large amount of waste is generated during the manufacture of bottle stoppers from the cork industries in granular form. These granules are lighter than many lightweight aggregates presently used for making lightweight concrete. This paper discusses the properties of cork and its compatibility with cement. Some physical and mechanical properties of cork cement composite materials are also presented.
