Synthesis of Tailored Block Copolymer Adhesives via Living Polymerization Methodologies

摘要

The stable free radical polymerization of styrene and n-butyl acrylate were mediated with the synthesized α-hydrogen containing nitroxide DEPN. SEC analysis indicated that the polymerizations proceeded in a relatively controlled fashion. Block copolymers containing methacrylic sequences were also synthesized via anionic polymerization methodologies. Cleavage of the pendant t-butyl groups increased both hydrophilicity as well as the glass transition temperature of the hydrophilic block.
