1. Combinatorial catalysis, in all its aspects (i.e., including HTE), provides additional and complementary tools for catalysis research. It has witnessed tremendous growth in the last two years, in industry (developers and users) as well as in academia. 2. The usefulness and potential of this approach has been demonstrated both in industry and in academia. 3. Recent technological developments comprise new catalyst preparation strategies, novel catalyst micro-screening/ testing systems, new analytical tools, and intensive use of scientific computing in all of its aspects (library design, automation, monitoring, data mining, etc...).
