The acid neutralize capacity ANC of soil to acid rain was studied and compared in southern and northern China in this paper. In this study, ANC values are classified into three categories, showing a clear geographic distribution in China. The ANC in southern China is lower (more sensitivity), while in northern China and Tibet it is higher (non or low sensitivity). The rate of soil acidification depends on acidity (pH) of rain, rainfall and soil character. The ratio of [∑M~+]/[H~+] in rain and soil solution is tried to used to assiss rate of soil acidification. The rate of soil acidification is higher in Yichang. The soil in Yichang is acidified easily.
