RECENT DEVELOPMENTS AND CHALLENGES WITH DESIGNING CONTROLLED RELEASE PARENTERAL DOSAGE FORMS FOR VETERINARY MEDICINE

摘要

The controlled release parenteral dosage forms (CR-PDF) used in veterinary medicine are reviewed. Solutions, suspensions, implants, microspheres and in-situ forming implants are technologies used to control drug delivery. Challenges in developing these dosage forms include understanding occurrences at the injection site, methodology for formulation/ analytical development and procedures for efficacy testing.
