IN-VITRO RELEASE OF TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE FROM TOPICAL GELS CONTAINING DIFFERENT TYPES OF LIPOSOMES

Multilamellar (MLV) and small unilamellar (SUV) liposomes containing Triamcinolone Acetonide (TA) were prepared. Carbopol 940 was used to prepare the gels The release of the drug through a semi permeable synthetic membrane by a new diffusion cells was determined. The drug release from the different gels, was influenced by the types of liposomes. The gel contains SUV liposomes release its drug content more slowly than MLV and hydro-alcoholic gels.
