摘要

The effect of charge and molecular weight of compounds and method of entrapment (encapsulation and sorption) on entrapment efficiency within nanocapsules prepared by interfacial polymerisation of a water-in-oil microemulsion was investigated. For low molecular weight bioactives, drug loading can be equally performed by either encapsulation or sorption but in both cases entrapment efficiency is influenced by the charge of the bioactives. For high molecular weight compounds, entrapment within nanocapsules is best undertaken by encapsulation.
