EASY DRYOUT SELF FLOW CASTABLES FOR REHEAT FURNACE

This paper studied the effects of particle size distribution, bonding system and additives on the properties of self-flow castables, as well as the effects of various additives on the dry out behavior of the self-flow castables. As the result of this study, a series of easy dry out self-flow castables for reheat furnace have been developed. Industrial application showed that the developed products have excellent service life, 30% longer than the commercially used ones. Especially, the construction and dryout cycle are only 50% of the commercially used ones. Some Problems concerning field applications were discussed.
