The ZAAG system has been successfully operating at Steel Dynamics for 2 years, keeping Nitrogen figures consistently at an average of 2.5 ppm and maintaining low argon consumption. Steel Dynamics continues to use the ZAAG system to reduce or eliminate nitrogen pick-up and re-oxidation at the casters, while not allowing argon to be dumped into the atmosphere unchecked. The success of the ZAAG ladle shrouding system, achieving levels of 2.5 ppm nitrogen pick up over the two-year period at Steel Dynamics, is due to the efforts of the operators who work consistently with the ZAAG ladle shrouding system.
