1) The CoJet injection system successfully adapts itself to melting processes with high DRI charge ratios, proving its efficiency even though the bath levels at which oxygen injection start are quite low. 2) The different program of injection allows the system to adapt the melting process to variations in the DRI quality. 3) The automation of the system guarantees a repetitive operation heat after heat. 4) Maintenance problems are minimized. 5) Improvements in energy consumption and productivity have been achieved. 6) Better distribution of the oxygen produces a more homogeneous distribution of the thermal energy liberated. 7) The total labor charge of the operator is reduced, and personal safety is improved, since mill personnel no longer need to be exposed to the consumable pipes.
