The use of new integrated sixpack components (6 IGBTs in a single compact module) in the new Galaxy 3000 range provides customers with a number of advantages, notably in terms of performance, reliability, size and cost optimisation. The associated high power densities lead to the necessity of a more effective cooling technique than natural or forced-air convection.
