The introduction of the hydrogen peroxide oxidation reaction is important to have good agreement between modelling and measurements in the general case. Only then can a reasonably low passivity current be used in the model. The consumption and production of hydrogen, oxygen, and hydrogen peroxide by the electrochemical reactions are important in systems with high area-to-volume ratio. The heterogeneous decomposition of hydrogen peroxide is due to the electrochemical reactions of hydrogen peroxide oxidation and reduction. There is no or little influence of other, non-electrochemical, reactions.
