In the 1980's, multi-screen systems were built in SCADA systems for public plants. The multi-screen system allowed the operator to change the images displayed on the multi-screen in the same manner as an operating station, and offered the benefit of having many people view the same images at once. The user interface of the multi-screen system, however, was independent of that of each operating station thereby limiting the role of the multi-screen system to simply an operating station with a big screen. In this paper we introduce a multiscreen communication system that integrates the user interface of the multi-screen system into that of each operating station, thereby allowing two-way data transmission between the multiscreen system and each operating station.
