Numerical simulations are used to investigate the effects of an impact between the front fin of an high-velocity craft called Seabus and a semi-submerged obstacle. The obstacle located on the craft course is represented by a typical square cross section aluminum naval container. Impact numerical analysis, performed with the AUTODYN-2D hydrocode, allows to determine the damage induced on the craft fin, in order to assess its resistance after the event. Several design solutions are examined, in order to reduce the fin damage using different material reinforcements.
