Dynamic Positioning Systems(DPS) have been widely used for deep sea operation such as station keeping of FPSOs and semisubmersibles, and position tracking of deep sea mining vessels. Especially, since the deep sea mining vessels operate in very ddep region, which is deeper than 5,000 meters, tnere is no alternative but DPS for position tracking purpose. Furthermore, the speed of deep-sea mining vessel is usually very slow which is lower than 2 knots. This means that steering rudder is not so effective for tracking the designated routes.
