colloidal drug carriers such as poly(isobutylcyanoacrylate nanocapsules (PIBCA) have bene shown to delvier a sufficient amount of active insulin after oral administration to streptozotocin induced diabettic fasted rats to decrease the blood glucose level from a diabetic level of 300 mg/dl to a normal level of 125 mg/dl (Damge et al, 1988).
