Amphiphilic water-soluble polymers can be used for the obtaining of organized layers on the interfaces between poalr and non-polar phases. in particular, such polymers were applied for the modification of liposomal membranes in order to prepare long-circulating lipoosomes. Many of these polymers including amphiphilic derivatives of polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) were found to be efficient steic protectors for liposomes and other microparticulates in vivo (1,2).
