CoMedia - a web portal to multimedia usage in product development

Many companies, especially small and medium sized enterprises (SME's), avoid employing multimedia and virtual reality techniques, because they lack experience in this field and they worry about the enormous costs of professional support. However, these techniques could do a valuable service for SMEs, not only for marketing, but in product development. In product development these techniques can help to demonstrate ideas for complex products to focus groups in order to get feedback and to improve the products. This Virtual Prototyping approach is not new, but today its use is mainly limited to large corporations able to afford their own multimedia or virtual reality expert groups.
