Authors have developed a new chemical grouting method to increase the liquefaction resistance of sandy layers beneath the existing structures. The results of the experiments carried out to date indicate that this approach could prove extremely effective. On the basis of the laboratory tests, a field test was performed on the beach of Niigata city to investigate the permeability and the strength incremeny by improvement. The diameter of each improved area became about 4m ong by 8-hours injection.
