Due to previous problems experienced with a similar, relatively new 304N stainless steel tubed high pressure feedwater heater, (Karg, et al. Ref, No. 9), Santee Cooper became concerned when failures in the subject feedwater heater were suspected to also be at the exit of the desuperheat zone.
