It is well known that the transport processes are influenced significantly by charging patterns of burden in Blast Furnace. Charging ore and coke in turn layer by layer is the traditional pattern. The gas flow in blast furnace with various burden charge patterns has been systematically analyzed by numerical simulation using finite difference. Some important conclusions are as follows: The distribution of gas velocity at the cross section is similar to rectangle wave. Streamline with layer charge has the distribution of broken line. Charge with center coke can move the streamline to the center. The measure of charging small size coke next to the wall of blast furnace is worthy to be further studied for its restraining the wall-side gas flow and increasing the lining durability.
