Measurement of sound scattering properties of diffusing panels through the Wave Field Synthesis approach

The sound scattering properties of diffusing panels are actually very difficult to measure andto predict. Furthermore, an unique, commonly accepted “diffusion coefficient” has not beendefined yet. In this paper the Wave Field Synthesis approach is employed for the experimentalmeasurement of a physically defined diffusion coefficient. The results are in good agreementwith the numerical simulations presented in a parallel paper.
