The results of these simulations indicate a promising future for the use of CFD to model post combustions systems in steelmaking vessels. Further advance in computer resources allowing for faster computation time and more intricate models, in additions to an increase in the sophistication of available software packages, will allow for the successful development of more complex simulations. This can be a useful tool in the design of post combustion systems.
